Hey, just a quick comment I wanted to leave you. But the Optical Fibers you're using in your Light Ring 4.0, how exactly were you polishing and cutting them? To say polishing POF (Plastic Optical Fiber) is tough makes me wonder how you're doing it. They make a holder that will cut the POF perfectly with a razor, and as far as polishing, they make a puck that will hold the POF+Jacketing (granted your POF doesn't show a jacket, but you can cut a small piece of jacketing just to place on the fiber you want to polish.
Glad to see Fiber Optics being used in any project though

I Like your site, found it via hackaday.com. It looks like you're trying to focus your light and are having mixed results. Have you thought about using a different shaped router bit. A Parabolic-shaped one would focus all the light straight forward as long as your light source is a the focal point (in theory anyway.) A V-shaped one woud focus half the reflected light to a point directly in from of the center of the lens and the other half to the its sides. Good Luck.

En ik moet ook maar eens een site gaan maken, alleen moet ik nog even wat extra tijd op Ebay kopen, helaas wordt het zelden aangeboden...  |

Hi, your DIY about making LED rings are awesome. I'll try to do one myself, with blue LEDS. What I'm trying to do is imitate the LightRing from reflecmedia. Dunno if it will work, but at least I'll have fun building it.

Hallo Joris,
Mooie website, proficiat. Het verbeteren van homepages blijft een cyclisch proces vind ik. Steeds opnieuw constateer ik tekortkomingen aan mijn eigen site en dan kijk ik zo links en rechts om mij heen hoe en wat anderen doen. Omdat ik weet dat jij daar ook actief mee bezig bent, bezocht ik jou website en las het verhaal over CSS. Ik heb in mijn vorige update de hele boel omgegooid naar stylesheets en dat was een flinke klus zonder dat de lezers daar iets van zien. Ook het geduvel met frames bevalt me helemaal niet en het idee om het met tabelachtige structuren te doen is met door jouw verhaaltje weer meteen ontkracht. Ik zal eens op zoek gaan naar meer info over CSS en paginaopbouw als een soort van template waarbij een maximum breedte van het getoonde een eigen eis wordt. Sinds enige tijd beschik ik op mijn werk over een 20-inch monitor en dan erger ik me aan de repeterende achtergrondplaatjes bij diverse sites, waaronder die van mijzelf natuurlijk. Helaas wordt PHP e.d. niet ondersteund door Casema/Wanadoo/Orange dus moet ik het hebben van HTML.
Succes met je mooie website, het ziet er zeer gelikt uit , ook dit gastenboek. De mijne bij Alxnet heb ik wegens voortdurende onbereikbaarheid maar uitgeschakeld. In een jaar tijd geen enkele reactie is toch ook zinloos!
